450g (1lb) minced beef

1 onion, chopped

1 packet Schwartz Flavourful Tex-Mex Chilli con Carne Recipe Mix

400g tin chopped tomatoes

2 tbs tomato purée

50ml (2fl oz) water

400g tin kidney beans, drained

1. Fry the minced beef and onion in a deep frying pan, until browned, then drain off any excess liquid.

2. Sprinkle in the packet contents and cook gently for a few seconds, stirring to release the flavours.

3. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to the boil, giving the dish a quick stir. Finally, take down the heat, cover the pan and leave to simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the sauce is nice and thick.

4. Try throwing a packet of tortilla chips into a large heatproof dish. Spoon the cooked chilli con carne over and sprinkle with a handful of grated cheese. Grill for a few minutes, until golden brown. Top with soured cream and sit back and enjoy!

VEGETARIAN SUGGESTIONS:Simply replace the minced beef with Quorn mince, or similar meat-free mince and follow the instructions on the pack.

Mixed Pepper & Bean Burritos - Try replacing the minced beef with a tin of mixed beans and two diced peppers. Simply fry the onion in a little oil, until browned. Add the diced peppers, 400g tin of mixed beans (drained), the chopped tomatoes, tomato purée and water and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook through for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened. Delicious served in flour tortillas, topped with grated cheese and grilled until golden brown.
