Usage
SPICY MEATBALLS
450g (1lb) minced beef
1 packet Schwartz Flavourful Spicy Meatballs Recipe Mix
4 tbs tomato purée1 yellow pepper, cut into chunks
400g tin chopped tomatoes
150ml (¼ pint) water
200g (7oz) spaghetti, cooked and drained
1. Tip the minced beef into a large bowl. Sprinkle in the packet
contents and squeeze in 2 tbs of tomato purée. Using your
hands, thoroughly mix the mince mixture and then form into about 20
small meatballs.
2. Fry the meatballs in a deep frying pan for about 10-12 minutes.
Then add the pepper and cook for a few minutes to soften.
3. Add the chopped tomatoes, the remaining tomato purée and
water and simmer for 5-10 minutes, until thickened.
4. Serve the meatballs on a bed of cooked spaghetti.
5. Replace the chopped tomatoes with a small punnet of cherry
tomatoes, simply add at the same time as the pepper and follow the
remaining directions. Pork or turkey mince also works well, or try
forming the mince into burgers and grilling until cooked
through.
VEGETARIAN SUGGESTION:For a vegetarian version of our delicious Spicy Three Cheese and Bacon
Pasta - simply follow this delicious recipe replacing the
bacon with extra mushrooms or diced pepper.
SUITABLE FOR FREEZING
This finished recipe is suitable for freezing. Transfer the
cooked recipe to an airtight container and leave to cool. Cover and
place in the freezer for up to 1 month, for best results.NB. Do
not add the spaghetti to this dish, just freeze the meatballs and
sauce.
Re-heating Guidlines - Defrost
thoroughly overnight in a refrigerator. Transfer to a saucepan and heat
gently over a medium-heat, stirring occasionally, until piping hot
throughout. Alternatively, place in a microwaveable bowl, cover loosely
with cling film and re-heat in the microwave on HIGH for 4-5 minutes,
stirring half-way through, or until piping hot throughout.
