Bacon & Mushroom Tagliatelle

A delicious tomato recipe mix with garlic and herbs for a quick and easy pasta dish.

Usage

For OUR RECIPE you will need …

 

1 sachet Schwartz Bacon & Mushroom Tagliatelle Recipe Mix
1 tsp oil
200g (8oz) bacon, sliced
100g (4oz) mushrooms, sliced
400g tin chopped tomatoes
50ml (2fl oz) water
1 tbs tomato purée
275g (10oz) tagliatelle, cooked and drained

Directions …

1. Heat oil and fry bacon for 1-2 minutes.  Drain excess liquid.

2. Add mushrooms and fry for a further 1-2 minutes.  Add tomatoes, sachet contents, water and tomato purée.  Bring to the boil, stirring.

3. Simmer for 5 minutes and then combine the sauce with the tagliatelle.

4. Serve with a crisp green salad and garlic bread.

Hints & Tips…

Why not try adding sliced courgettes, or for a richer sauce, substitute the water for red wine and add a little cream at the end of cooking.  Delicious served with shavings of Parmesan cheese.

Additional Usage

Microwave directions for 800W: Place oil, bacon and mushrooms in a microwaveable dish.  Cover and cook on full power for 4 minutes.  Mix sachet contents into water and add to dish with tomatoes and tomato purée.  Cover and cook on full power for 8 minutes, stirring half-way through.  Combine sauce with well drained tagliatelle.

Freezing Guidelines

This finished recipe is suitable for freezing.  Transfer the cooked recipe to a dry clean container, leave to cool prior to sealing.  Place in the freezer for up to 1 month, for best results.

Re-heating Guidelines

Defrost thoroughly overnight in a refrigerator.  Transfer to a saucepan and heat gently over a medium-heat, stirring occasionally, until piping hot throughout.  Alternatively, place in a microwaveable bowl, cover loosely with cling film and re-heat in the microwave (800W) on full power for 4-5 minutes, stirring half-way through, or until piping hot throughout.
