We've combined the essential ingredients for a
perfect savoury sauce, with onion and herbs, for Chicken Casserole - a
marvellous winter evening meal.
Usage
CHICKEN CASSEROLE
1 tbs oil
175g (6oz) leeks, sliced
2 carrots, peeled and sliced
4 chicken breasts, skinned
1 packet of Schwartz Chicken Casserole Recipe Mix
300ml (½ pint) of water
1. Preheat oven to 180°C, 350°F, Gas Mark 4.
2. Heat the oil and soften the leeks and carrots in a frying pan. Add
the chicken and cook for 2-3 minutes.
3. Transfer to a casserole dish.
4. Blend the packet contents into the water and pour over the
chicken.
5. Cover and cook for 1 hour.
6. Serve with creamy mashed potatoes.
Replace the leeks and carrots with a sliced red onion,
a sliced red pepper and add a couple of quartered fresh
tomatoes.
SUITABLE FOR
FREEZING
This finished recipe is suitable for freezing.
Transfer the cooked recipe to an airtight container and leave to cool.
Cover and place in the freezer for up to 1 month, for best
results.
Re-heating Guidlines - Defrost thoroughly
overnight in a refrigerator. Transfer to a saucepan and heat gently over a
medium-heat, stirring occasionally, until piping hot throughout.
Alternatively, place in a microwaveable bowl, cover loosely with cling
film and re-heat in the microwave on HIGH for 4-5 minutes, stirring
half-way through, or until piping hot throughout.
