This savoury creamy sauce mix for Chicken and Leek
Bake is flavoured with lemon and herbs. Great for a tasty week-day meal.
Or try replacing the chicken with turkey and using skimmed milk, for a
reduced fat option.
Usage
CHICKEN AND LEEK BAKE
450g (1lb) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced
100g (4oz) bacon, chopped
225g (8oz) leeks, sliced
25g (1oz) butter
1 packet Schwartz Chicken and Leek Bake Recipe Mix
450ml (¾ pint) milk
50g (2oz) Cheddar cheese, grated
1. Fry the chicken, bacon and leeks in the butter for 5 minutes.
2. Blend the packet contents into the milk. Pour over the chicken.
Bring to the boil, stirring. Simmer for 5 minutes or until the chicken
is cooked.
3. Transfer to a heatproof dish. Sprinkle over the cheese and grill
until golden.
4. Serve with pasta.Stir in 225g (8oz) cooked pasta and transfer to a
heatproof dish. Top with grated Cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs and grill
until golden.
SUITABLE FOR
FREEZING
This finished recipe is suitable for freezing.
Prepare the dish up to Step 2, then transfer the cooked recipe to an
airtight container and leave to cool. Cover and place in the freezer for
up to 1 month, for best results.
Re-heating Guidlines -
Defrost thoroughly overnight in a refrigerator. Transfer to a saucepan and
heat gently over a medium-heat, stirring occasionally, until piping hot
throughout. Alternatively, place in a microwaveable bowl, cover loosely
with cling film and re-heat in the microwave on HIGH for 4-5 minutes,
stirring half-way through, or until piping hot throughout.
