This creamy garlic and mushroom sauce mix for pork
is based on a traditional stroganoff recipe.
Usage
CREAMY PORK AND
MUSHROOMS
1 tbs oil
450g (1lb) pork, sliced
1 small onion, chopped
225g (8oz) mushrooms, sliced
1 packet Schwartz Creamy Pork and Mushroom Recipe Mix
275ml (9fl oz) milk
2 tbs single cream (optional)
1. Heat the oil and fry the pork and onion in a frying pan for 5
minutes. Add the mushrooms and fry for a further 2-3 minutes.
2. Blend the packet contents into the milk and add to the pan.
3. Bring to the boil, stirring. Simmer for 1-2 minutes.
4. Stir in the single cream if using.
5. Serve with creamy mashed potato.
For Pork Stroganoff follow the directions above but
add 2 tbs brandy with the mushrooms. Blend the packet contents with 150ml
(¼ pint) milk and add to the pan with 150ml (¼ pint)
soured cream. Bring to the boil, stirring. Simmer for 1-2 minutes. Serve
with freshly cooked tagliatelle.
SUITABLE FOR
FREEZING
This finished recipe is suitable for freezing.
Transfer the cooked recipe to an airtight container and leave to cool.
Cover and place in the freezer for up to 1 month, for best
results.
Re-heating Guidlines - Defrost thoroughly
overnight in a refrigerator. Transfer to a saucepan and heat gently over a
medium-heat, stirring occasionally, until piping hot throughout.
Alternatively, place in a microwaveable bowl, cover loosely with cling
film and re-heat in the microwave on HIGH for 4-5 minutes, stirring
half-way through, or until piping hot throughout.
