Beef Casserole recipe

Ingredients

Stewing steak is often sold pre-packaged in supermarkets and usually consists of cuts such as leg, brisket, chuck, neck and skirt. This classic beef casserole with stewing steak is cheap and simple to make using Schwartz Recipe Mix for Beef Casserole.

Method

Step 1

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C, 350°F, Gas Mark 4.

Step 2

Heat the oil and fry the steak, onion and carrots for 3-4 minutes in a frying pan. Transfer to a casserole dish.

Step 3

Blend the packet contents into the water and add to the casserole dish. Cover and cook for 2 hours or until the meat is tender.

Step 4

Serve with creamy mashed potato and green vegetables.
