Lemon Blanc Cocktail recipe

Ingredients

  • For the lemon thyme syrup:
  • 125 g (5 oz) sugar
  • 125 ml (4 fl oz) water
  • 1 bunch fresh lemon thyme
  • For the rest:
  • 125 ml (4 fl oz) gin
  • 125 ml (4 fl oz) limoncello liqueur
  • 125 ml (4 fl oz) meyer lemon juice
  • 275 ml (9 fl oz) lemon Thyme Syrup
  • 1 Schwartz Vanilla Pod
  • 75 ml (3 fl oz) milk
  • 25 ml (1 fl oz) single cream
  • Lemon twists, to garnish

Lemon thyme-infused simple syrup adds an herbal note to a citrus gin cocktail.

Method

Step 1

For the Lemon Thyme Syrup, mix sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to the boil. Add lemon thyme and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and leave to cool for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to completely dissolve sugar. Strain. Cover and refrigerate until well chilled.

Step 2

Heat milk and cream with the Vanilla Pod for 2 minutes and allow to cool.

Step 3

Fill a shaker half full with cracked ice. Add all ingredients, shake until well mixed and chilled, then strain into 3 cocktail glasses. Serve with or without ice and garnish with lemon twists.

Step 4

Cook's Notes

If fresh lemon thyme is unavailable, substitute 2 teaspoons Schwartz Thyme Leaves.

If Meyer lemon juice is unavailable, use 3 tablespoons lemon juice and 1 tablespoon orange juice for each cocktail shaker.
