BACON AND MUSHROOM TAGLIATELLE
1tsp oil
225g (8oz) smoked bacon, sliced
100g (4oz) mushrooms, sliced
400g tin chopped tomatoes
1 packet Schwartz Bacon & Mushroom Tagliatelle Recipe Mix
50ml (2 floz) water
1tbs tomato purée
275g (10oz) tagliatelle, cooked and drained
1. Heat the oil and fry the bacon for 1-2 minutes in a frying pan. Drain any excess liquid. Add the mushrooms and fry for a further 1-2 minutes.
2. Add the chopped tomatoes, packet contents, water and the tomato purée. Bring to the boil, stirring.
3. Simmer for 5 minutes. Combine the sauce with the tagliatelle.
4. Serve with a crisp green salad and garlic bread.


Fry 1 sliced courgette with the mushrooms. For a richer sauce, substitue the water for red wine and add a little cream at the end of cooking. Top with Parmesan cheese and serve with garlic bread.
SUITABLE FOR FREEZING
This finished recipe is suitable for freezing. Transfer the cooked recipe to an airtight container and leave to cool. Cover and place in the freezer for up to 1 month, for best results.
NB. If freezing this dish do not add the cooked pasta
Re-heating Guidlines - Defrost thoroughly overnight in a refrigerator. Transfer to a saucepan and heat gently over a medium-heat, stirring occasionally, until piping hot throughout. Alternatively, place in a microwaveable bowl, cover loosely with cling film and re-heat in the microwave on HIGH for 4-5 minutes, stirring half-way through, or until piping hot throughout.
