Mixed Spice Cookie Treats

Spice up your Christmas tree decorations with homemade cookies to hang on the branches. Just whip up some mixed spice cookies and shape the dough into your preferred designs, before creating a hole at the top of the cookies with a straw and then baking them in the oven. Once cooled and iced, thread ribbon through the hole and hang them on the tree. If they’re not being eaten on the day, pop them in clear cellophane bags to help them stay fresh– and position them at the top so kids can’t grab them straight away!

Cinnamon Candles

The smell of cinnamon cookies in the oven filling the house really makes it feel like Christmas. But there’s a way to create the magic without the baking. Make your home smell divine by creating your own cinnamon candles. Simply melt wax with our fragrant ground cinnamon and pour it into a jar with a wick glued to the bottom. Just make sure to keep the wick held up in place using two pencils balanced on the jar. Try making a few then dot them around the house for a beautifully fragrant home this festive season!

Ginger in Bath

Christmas is the time of indulgence – and that means getting some ‘me time’ in there, too. Treat yourself with a relaxing bath, made all the more soothing with the addition of zesty ginger. Ginger is said to have both detoxifying and anti-inflammatory properties, making it the perfect spice for bath time. Simply run a hot bath, add a generous helping of our ground ginger and enjoy a long hot soak. For an extra luxurious experience, light a few candles and put on some relaxing music. Bliss!

Nutmeg Potpourri Jar

Homemade potpourri is a thoughtful gift that both looks and smells the part. To make a special festive nutmeg potpourri, start by placing whole nutmegs alongside your preferred ingredients in a baking tray with some sweet ground nutmeg – cinnamon sticks, whole cloves and star anise, thinly sliced oranges and apples, and even flowers all work wonderfully. Roast them until everything has dried, add a touch more nutmeg, then just place everything in a wide-based ornamental jar or bowl. Wrap in clear cellophane and tie with a festive bow before gifting to the lucky recipient.
