Aromatic Chicken & Chickpea Tagine recipe

Ingredients

In this recipe, chicken and chickpeas are combined in an aromatic Moroccan-spiced sauce to give a deliciously rich yet mild dish.

Method

Step 1

Heat the olive oil over a medium heat and fry the onion and Easy Garlic for 3-4 minutes until softened.

Step 2

Add the chicken and fry for a further 4-5 minutes, until browned.

Step 3

Add the spices and cook for 30 seconds. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a gentle simmer.

Step 4

Reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.

Cook's Notes

A great recipe for preparing in advance for friends, simply leave to cool, cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.  Re-heat in a pan on the hob, until piping hot throughout.
