BBQ Sides that are set to steal the limelight

When we say 'BBQ' you might think 'meat', but we've got some delicious flavour combinations that will take your side dishes from supporting cast to centre stage.

Coleslaw - A Quick and Refreshing BBQ Favourite

Coleslaw might have had a cool new makeover & new name (‘slaw’) but it’s always been a BBQ favourite for us. Shred a good portion of red and white cabbage and mix with finely chopped onions, carrots and half a pint of good quality mayonnaise for a quick but delicious accompaniment.

Potato Salad

Fancy putting a new twist on another classic side dish? It’s easy to jazz up a potato salad - all you need to do is add extra spring onions and some beautiful smokey bacon. Sizzle some rashers on the BBQ with a sprinkle of our delicious Smokey Texan Grill Mates and chop up before mixing in.

Side Salad with an Unexpected Kick

The humble green salad is a classic - toss together a bowlful of baby leaf greens dressed with a slosh of olive oil, lemon juice, a twist of pepper and a dash or G to create a go-to side salad that’ll compliment any dish perfectly.

Embrace summer and round off your BBQ with our selection of fruity dessert ideas that are easy to make and delicious to eat.

  • Skewer chunks of apple, peach, banana and oranges and add a smidgen of lemon juice then warm them up on the BBQ for a quick sweet treat. TIP: Soak wooden skewers in water overnight so they don't burn on the grill.
  • Cool down with a refreshing exotic cocktail to sip on whilst grilling. Simply cut yourself some pineapple wedges and smother in a glaze of butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and rum. Grill for 10 minutes (turning halfway through).
  • Got room for s'more? Toast a few marshmallows over the grill before layering on top of a digestive biscuit and lightly melted chocolate for a deliciously sweet sandwich.
