Tender beef mince simmered gently and flavoured with onion and black pepper for a delicious, savoury mince, ideal as a base for cottage pie or simply served with creamy mash for a warming dinner.
- 1 tbs oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 450 g (1 lb) extra lean beef mince
- 2 sticks celery, diced
- 2 carrots, peeled and diced
- 1 sachet Schwartz Savoury Mince
- 300 ml (½ pint) water
Try using the Savoury Mince as a filling for a warming minced beef pie. Serve with roast potatoes and peas.
STEP 1: Heat oil, fry onion, mince, celery and carrot for 5-6 minutes.
STEP 2: Mix sachet contents with water and add to pan.
STEP 3: Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
STEP 4: Serve with creamy mashed potatoes.
