Spicy Minced Beef Tacos
  • 450 gram (1 pound) minced beef

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  • 1 teaspoon plain flour

  • 150 millilitre (1/4 pint) beef stock

  • 2 teaspoon Mild Chilli Powder

  • 1 teaspoon Oregano

  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Granules

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoons tomato purée

  • 1 small green pepper, diced

  • To serve:

  • 12 taco shells

  • Shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes

  • Soured cream, mayonnaise or grated cheese

  • 1 Fry the minced beef and onion until browned. Add the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring.
  • 2 Blend in the stock, seasonings and tomato purée. Add the green pepper and bring to the boil, stirring. Simmer, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes or until almost all the liquid has evaporated. Stir occasionally.
  • 3 Divide the mince mixture between the taco shells, top with lettuce and tomato and finish with a little soured cream, mayonnaise or grated cheese.
