Pan-fried tuna steaks, seared to lock in the flavour, served with a delicious and chunky tomato Mediterranean sauce.
Heat a griddle or frying pan, brush with a little olive oil. Cook the tuna steaks for 1-2 minutes on each side, leaving the inside slightly pink. Cook for a little longer, if preferred. Set aside and keep warm.
Meanwhile, heat the rest of the olive oil in the pan and fry the onion for 3-4 minutes, add the pepper and fry for a further 2 minutes, add the rest of the ingredients, bring to the boil and simmer for 2 minutes.
Serve the pan-fried tuna with a generous serving of the sauce. Great served with fresh tagliatelle.
