Spicy Japanese seasoning blend, also known as Shichimi Togarashi, includes Chillies, Sesame Seed, orange peel, nori and more. It is used to flavour soups, noodle dishes, grilled meats and seafood.
Pre-heat oven to 140°C, 275°F, Gas Mark 1. Place orange zest onto a non-stick baking tray lined with greaseproof parchment paper. Heat through in the oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until dried out, then finely chop.
Process nori in mini food processor, until fine flakes form. Mix nori, orange zest and remaining spices until well blended.
Store in tightly covered jar in a cool dry place until ready to use.
