  • 2 teaspoon rapeseed oil

  • 450 gram (1 pound) extra lean beef mince

  • 1 large onion, finely chopped

  • 1 green pepper, deseeded and chopped

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt

  • ½ -1 teaspoon Hot Chilli Powder

  • ½ teaspoon Ground Cumin

  • 400 gram tin chopped tomatoes

  • 2 tablespoons tomato purée

  • 400 gram tin red kidney beans, drained and rinsed

  • 250 gram (9 ounce) brown rice

  • Ground Black Pepper , to season

Instructions

  • 1 Heat oil and brown mince for 4-5 minutes. Add the onions, green pepper, garlic, chilli powder, cumin and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • 2 Add the remaining ingredients (except the rice). Bring the sauce to the boil, then lower the heat, cover and simmer gently for 15-20 minutes.
  • 3 Meanwhile, cook the rice according to the packet instructions.
  • 4 Season the chilli with Ground Black pepper to taste. Serve with boiled rice.
