These simple grilled cheeseburgers oozing with Cheddar make a tasty meal any night of the week.
  • 100 grams (4 ounces) mature Cheddar cheese, cut into four chunks

  • 450 grams (1 pound) beef mince

  • 4 teaspoons BBQ Seasoning

  • 4 sesame seed buns, split in half

  • 4 lettuce leaves

  • 1 large tomato, thinly sliced

  • 4 rounds thinly sliced onion

  • 8 gherkin slices

  • 4 tablespoons American mustard

  • 4 tablespoons ketchup

Cooking tip
  1. For a loaded cheeseburger add bacon, avocado and mayo.

  • 1 1. Pre-heat the barbecue.
  • 2 2. Cut the cheese into four 2.5cm squares, about 1cm thick. Divide the beef mince into 4 portions. Roll each portion into a ball and press a piece of cheese in the centre of the ball. Pinch the beef mince to enclose the cheese and shape the balls into a 2.5 cm thick patty. Season the burgers all over with Classic BBQ Seasoning.
  • 3 3. Grill the burgers for 6-8 minutes per side or until meat is cooked through and no longer pink. Meanwhile, grill the buns for 1-1½ minutes or until lightly toasted.
  • 4 4. Assemble the burgers in buns with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, mustard and ketchup.
