A festive starter to enjoy before a main meal.
Ingredients
200 grams (7oz) of red lentils
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons tahini (sesame cream or sesame oil if you don't have it)
A few pinches of salt
1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
1 teaspoon Schwartz Turmeric
1 clove of garlic
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
- 1 1. Cook the red lentils for 10 minutes in boiling water. Drain them and let them cool.
- 2 2. Mix the lentils, olive oil, lemon juice, tahini, salt, cumin, turmeric and garlic clove until you obtain a smooth paste.
- 3 3. Pour the spread into a small jar and keep cool until tasting.
- 4 4. Enjoy with toasted slices of bread or sesame seed breadsticks.
