The perfect drink to share with your family on a cold evening. One sip will shake off any winter chills and warm you up from the inside out.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
1 pinch Schwartz Cayenne Pepper
1/2 teaspoon Schwartz Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Schwartz Turmeric
1/4 teaspoon Schwartz Ginger
1 lemon, juiced
900 millilitres (1 ½ pints) filtered water
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
- 1 Spiced Syrup: In a small bowl combine the maple syrup or honey, Cayenne Pepper, Cinnamon, Turmeric and Ginger. Stir until completely incorporated. Set aside.
- 2 Tonic: Put the water for the tonic into a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer. Once simmering, add the lemon juice and the Spiced Syrup. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes, then turn off the heat and allow the tonic to sit to let the spices settle.
- 3 Serve the finished Tea Tonic hot and garnished with a lemon slice..
