Freshly roasted nuts are the ultimate festive nibble, so why not greet your guests with this alternative twist on a Christmas classic? Add a little spice to your Christmas party with these South Asian-inspired snacks, with beautifully exotic garam masala and cayenne chilli pepper. The mild Indian spices pack the perfect punch – cool punch being the perfect drink to accompany these warming roasted nuts!
  • 100 gram (4 ounce) unsalted cashew nuts

  • 50 gram (2 ounce) hazlenuts

  • 50 gram (2 ounce) whole blanched almonds

  • 2 teaspoon oil

  • 2 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder

  • ¾ teaspoon salt

  • pinch Cayenne Chilli Pepper


  • 1 Preheat the oven to 200°C, 400°F, Gas Mark 6.
  • 2 Place the nuts, oil, garam masala, salt and cayenne pepper in a small roasting tin and stir well until the nuts are thoroughly coated with the oil and spices. Place in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden. Stir halfway through cooking.
  • 3 Allow to cool before eating. Serve your freshly roasted garam masala nuts with drinks before a meal.
