For OUR RECIPE you will need…
1 sachet Meatballs in tomato sauce Recipe Mix
450g (1lb) pork or beef mince, or combination of both
1 tbs oil
1 onion, finely chopped
400g tin chopped tomatoes
125ml (4fl oz) water
1. In a large bowl combine the mince with 1 tsp of the sachet contents, form into meatballs and set aside.
2. Heat the oil and fry the meatballs for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan, set aside and drain any excess fat. Add the onion and fry for a further 5 minutes, until softened. Add the remaining sachet contents, tomatoes and water, stir then add browned meatballs.
3. Bring to a simmer, cover pan and cook for 10 minutes, remove lid and simmer for a further 5 minutes, or until sauce has thickened and meatballs are cooked through.
4. Serve with roast cubed potatoes, or a simple green salad.
Hints & Tips…
Try adding a chopped green pepper, or butter beans for a more substantial dish.
Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
