Egg, Cheese & Onion Pasties
Pre-heat the oven to 200°C, 400°F, Gas Mark 6.
For the pastry - sieve flour and Perfect Shake Season-All Special Blend into a bowl. Add lard and margarine and rub into flour until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir in enough cold water to form a dough. Roll out pastry on a floured surface and cut into rounds the size of a saucer.
To make filling, melt butter in a saucepan. Add the onions and fry until soft. Allow to cool. Mash the hardboiled eggs in a bowl. Add the onions, cheese, Perfect Shake Season-All Special Blend, Dill and Paprika. Mix well. Divide the filling between the pastry rounds. Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg and shape to form a pasty. Crimp edges as desired . Brush with beaten egg.
Place on a greased baking sheet and cook for approximately 20 minutes.
Serve hot or cold. For an extra spicy flavour, use Spicy Season-All Seasoning instead of Season-All Seasoning.
