A rustic crumble flavoured with sweet Cinnamon and aromatic Allspice.
Ingredients
4 bramley apples, peeled and sliced
2 firm ripe pears, peeled and sliced
1 tablespoons lemon juice
1 Vanilla Pod , , seeds of
2 teaspoon Cinnamon Ground
1 tablespoons light brown sugar
Topping:
50 gram (2 ounce) flour
50 gram (2 ounce) oats
1 teaspoon Ground Allspice
1 teaspoon Cinnamon Ground
75 gram (3 ounce) butter, cut into pieces
100 gram (4 ounce) light brown sugar
50 gram (2 ounce) pecan nuts, roughly chopped
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
- 1 Pre-heat oven to 180°C, 350°F, Gas Mark 4.
- 2 Toss the apple and pear slices with the lemon juice and Vanilla Seeds in a large bowl. Mix in the Cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle over the fruit and toss to coat well. Spoon into a greased baking dish.
- 3 For the topping, mix the flour, oats, Allspice, Cinnamon in a medium bowl. Rub the butter into the flour until coarse crumbs form, add the sugar and the nuts, then sprinkle evenly over the fruit.
- 4 Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the fruit is tender and the topping is golden brown.
