Hanovarian Bacon Hotpot

450 gram (1 pound) smoked back bacon, chopped

450 gram (1 pound) potatoes, diced

225 gram (8 ounce) carrots, sliced

2 tablespoons oil

600 millilitre (1 pint) chicken stock

1 Bouquet Garni

1 teaspoon Dried Dill

¼ teaspoon Ground Black Pepper

225 gram (8 ounce) runner beans

225 gram (8 ounce) broad beans

1 large cooking apple, sliced

2 teaspoon cornflour and 1tbs cold water blended to form a paste

Instructions
- 1 Heat the oil in a large frying pan and fry the bacon, potatoes and carrots until just beginning to colour.
- 2 Stir in the stock, Bouquet Garni, Dill and Pepper. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
- 3 Stir in the beans, cooking apple and cornflour paste. Cover and cook for a further 15 minutes.
- 4 Remove Bouquet Garni. Serve with crusty bread and extra vegetables.
