Pork & American Style Beans

Meltingly tender belly of pork with a crispy skin, served with American style beans in a rich molasses sauce flavoured with Classic Barbecue Seasoning.

  • Pre-heat the oven to 220°C, 425°F, Gas Mark 7.

  • Score across the skin of the pork belly with a sharp knife, season generously with Salt and Pepper and place in the oven for 35 – 40 minutes until the skin begins to puff up and crisp.

  • Meanwhile, combine all of the remaining ingredients in a shallow, ovenproof dish. Sit the pork on top then cover the bean mixture loosely with foil, leaving the pork uncovered to allow it to continue to crisp.

  • Reduce the oven temperature to 170°C, 325°F, Gas Mark 3 and cook for 1 hour 45 minutes. The pork should be tender and crispy on top. Divide the pork into 4 and serve with the beans.
