  • For the dip:

  • 300 millilitre (1/2 pint) soured cream

  • 2 teaspoon Dried Dill

  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Granules

  • Salt and Ground White Pepper , to taste

  • 450 gram (1 pound) button mushrooms

  • 2 tablespoons plain flour

  • 2 medium eggs - beaten

  • 175 gram (6 ounce) Herbes de Provence , and 175 g (6 oz) seasoned brown breadcrumbs - mixed together

  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • 1 Combine the ingredients for the dip and refrigerate until required.
  • 2 Toss the mushrooms in the flour followed by the beaten egg. Thoroughly coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  • 3 Deep fry in hot oil for 4-5 minutes or until golden.
  • 4 Drain on kitchen paper and serve hot, accompanied by the dip.
