Chilli Beef Burgers

Tasty beef burgers flavoured with Chilli and a generous sprinkling of Herbes de Provence. Ideal for the grill or barbecue.
  • 1 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 450 gram (1 pound) lean beef mince

  • 1 tablespoons Mild Chilli Powder

  • 2 tablespoons tomato purée

  • 1 tablespoons Herbes de Provence

  • 4 sesame burger buns

  • mixed salad leaves

  • 2 tomatoes, sliced

  • Schwartz Sea Salt & Black Pepper to season


  • 1 Heat the oil in a frying pan and add the onion, fry gently for five minutes until softened. Tip the onions into a bowl and add the beef mince, Chilli powder, tomato purée and Herbes de Provence. Season and bring the mixture together.
  • 2 Divide the mixture into four patties and shape them. Leave to chill until ready to cook. Brush with a little oil and cook on the barbecue or under the grill for 15 minutes, turning half-way through. Ensure the burger is piping hot and cooked throughout before serving.
  • 3 Halve the burger buns and lay a lettuce leaf over one half. Top with a burger and two slices of tomato. Serve with a mixed salad.
