Easy Beef Stew

1 large onion

450 gram (1 pound) stewing steak, cubed

2 carrots, peeled and sliced

2 tablespoons tomato purée

350 millilitre (12 fluid ounce) hot beef stock

Schwartz Sea Salt and Black Pepper to season

Instructions
- 1 Pre-heat the oven to 180°C, 350°F Gas Mark 4.
- 2 Halve the onion, finely chop one of the halves and place in an oven proof casserole dish with the steak and carrots.
- 3 Combine the tomato puree with the beef stock and add to the pan. Stud the cloves into the remaining onion half, using some to attach the bay leaves to the onion, then add to the pan.
- 4 Season to taste, then cover and cook for 2 hours until the meat is tender. Remove the clove studded onion before serving.
