A really quick and easy dessert using frozen mixed berries and eating apples, flavoured with Mixed Spice and topped with a delicious crumble.
  • 500 gram (1 pound) bag frozen mixed berry fruits

  • 2 eating apples, sliced

  • 100 gram (4 ounce) sugar

  • 2 teaspoon Mixed Spice

  • 175 gram (6 ounce) plain flour

  • 75 gram (3 ounce) butter

  • 1 Pre-heat the oven to 180°C, 350°F, Gas Mark 4.
  • 2 Place the fruit, 25g (1oz) sugar, 2 tbs water and 1 tsp Mixed Spice in a saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 5 minutes. Transfer to an ovenproof serving dish.
  • 3 Place the flour, 75g (3oz) sugar and 1 tsp Mixed Spice in a bowl and rub in the butter until it resembles breadcrumbs. Top the fruit with this crumble mixture and bake for 45 minutes.
