  • 675 gram (1 1/2 pounds) potatoes, thinly sliced

  • 1 onion, sliced

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt

  • Pepper

  • 150 millilitre (1/4 pint) hot chicken stock

  • 50 gram (2 ounce) Cheddar cheese, grated

Instructions

  • 1 Pre-heat the oven to 190°C, 375°F, Gas Mark 5.
  • 2 Lightly butter a large ovenproof dish. Layer the potatoes and onion, sprinkling with Garlic Salt and pepper between the layers. Pour over the stock, cover and cook for 40 minutes.
  • 3 Sprinkle with cheese and cook uncovered for a further 35-40 minutes, until golden and potatoes are tender.
