Try these simple but delicious chilli burgers with a herby spring vegetable salsa. Adding beans to the beef patties makes the mince go even further.
  • 400 grams tin red kidney beans, drained

  • 450 grams (1 bag) lean beef mince

  • 1 sachet Schwartz Chilli con Carne Recipe Mix

  • 3 radishes, diced

  • 1/2 courgette, inner seeds removed and diced

  • 2 tomatoes, seeds removed and diced

  • 1/2 red onion, diced

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon Schwartz Oregano

  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

  • 6 burger buns

  • 100 grams (4 ounces) Sour cream

  • 100 grams (4 ounces) lettuce, shredded

  • Crumbled feta, optional

  • 1 To make the burgers empty the kidney beans into a large bowl and mash with a potato masher to form a coarse paste. Add the beef mince and the Chilli con Carne recipe mix. Work the mix together with hands until incorporated. Form into 6 even sized burger patties and cook in a griddle pan or on a BBQ for 4- 5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
  • 2 To make the spring salsa combine the radishes, courgettes, tomatoes and onion in a bowl and stir in the oil, oregano and lime juice.
  • 3 To serve, toast the burger buns, and spread both sides with sour cream, layer the lettuce on the bottom layer, then the burger and top with the spring salsa, feta if using and burger lid.
