A great side dish for Sunday lunch, or delicious served with sausages or chicken, this recipe combines steamed cauliflower and broccoli with a rich Cheddar Cheese Sauce.
Ingredients
  • 175 gram (6 ounce) cauliflower, cut into florets

  • 1 sachet Cheddar Cheese Sauce

  • 300 millilitre (½ pint) semi-skimmed milk

  • 25 gram (1 ounce) butter (optional)

  • 175 gram (6 ounce) broccoli, cut into florets

Instructions

  • 1 Place the broccoli and cauliflower in a steamer and steam for 5-6 minutes, until tender but still al dente.
  • 2 Meanwhile, blend the packet contents with the milk and bring to the boil, stirring. Add the butter if using, and leave to simmer for 1 minute.
  • 3 Place the steamed broccoli and cauliflower in a large serving dish and pour over the Cheddar Cheese Sauce.
